The Light of Hope: Synopsis

South of France, 1942. The Light of Hope is based on the true story of Elisabeth Eidenbenz (1913- 2011) and her female co-workers who saved the lives of almost 600 infants during World War II. After three years giving their dignity back to women interned in the refugee camps and saving their babies’ lives, the Elne’s maternity home closure seems imminent. Its director, Elisabeth, her colleagues and the group of mothers they have helped will confront the French authorities in order to keep it open.
